Keep the Pace
Your Board of Directors has put together a few tips that,
if followed, will make golf more enjoyable for all members.
Hit the ball when you are ready as long as it will not
interfere with the safety of other.
Go directly to your ball, planning your shot and club
selection on the way.
Have your club in hand and ready to hit when on the tee.
Watch the flight of the ball hit by other members in your
foursome to quicken its location.
Lineup your putt before it is your turn. Putting through
is encouraged.
The group ahead should either be on the approach or
on the green at the same time your group is on
the tee. This is an indication whether your group should
pickup the pace.
Scores should be entered on the card at the next tee.
Par Hopers Rules of Play
USGA Rules apply except as indicated below. Since the Par
Hopers Golf Club is for senior players with a wide range of skill levels,
these deviations are made so that the players can enjoy playing the golf
courses in various levels of condition and determine handicaps standardized
with clubs with whom the Par Hopers compete.
Improvement on your lie - No Penalty
Lift, clean and place applies anywhere on the golf course except in
identified hazards such as sand traps or areas marked with stakes
or chalk lines. The ball must be played as it lies when it comes to
rest in these areas. In all other areas, the ball may be lifted, cleaned
and replaced within twelve (12) inches from its original spot no closer
to the hole.
Since our home course has many areas of standing water or ground under
repair during the season, balls coming to rest in these areas may be moved
to the closest point of relief but no closer to the hole.
A ball coming to rest near any man made impediment such as manholes,
tree guide wires, equipment, sprinkler's heads, etc. that restrict swing or stance
may be moved up to two (2) clubs length but no closer to the hole.
Unplayable lie - One stroke penalty.
The definition of an unplayable lie is when the ball comes to rest under or
against a natural impediment (trees, shrubs, etc.) and after you move it
twelve (12) inches, keeping the impediment between the hole and your ball,
and you are still unable to swing or take a stance, you have an unplayable
lie. At this time you may move the ball two (2) clubs length from its position
but no closer to the hole.
Lost Ball - One stroke penalty.
When a ball is determined lost, drop a replacement ball no closer to the hole and proceed.
The maximun search time for lost ball shall be not exceed two (2) minutes. Player has the option of replaying
lost, out of bound shots either from its original position or playing it as close as possible to the point where
the ball is determined to have gone out.
Tips for Cart Golfers (2 players)
After teeing off, drive directly to the ball to be hit first
dropping off the first player. Proceed to the ball to be hit next. After completion, the second player will
return to retrieve the first player. Repeat the process through the round.
For approach, sand or chip shot near the green, take the clubs you deem necessary to finish
the hole, including your putter, of course.
The last player to leave the cart has the responsability of parking the cart thirty (30) feet
from the green (course rule) and in line with the next hole.
Your Board wants to make golfing more enjoyable for all members and part of that
is keeping the pace and completing your round in a reasonable time.
Super Seniors
Super Seniors (8o years young and over, in good standing) have the option
to use the short tees however, once a choice has been made, it will stand for the
duration of the season including tournaments.
