CONGRATULATIONS

...to everyone for having survived the extremely hot summer of 2007. There is a new challenge for 2008 as a result of Indian Valley closing. Reeves management expects an increase in the number of golfers, including the possibility of a new league playing opposite our league. To accommodate the tee times for our fellow golfers, they must now consider our block of tee times as a fixed period of time. If our starting tee time is 8:00, they plan to schedule open play in front of our league. They have a policy of not separating league groups, but we are working with them to allow our early arrivals to use any open times. This would separate our groups, but it is a WIN - WIN situation. The early arrivals would start earlier, and our league would clear the course earlier. Of course, this means our last group is expected to be available to tee off prior to our last scheduled tee time. Thank you for your support and willingness to work with the Board who will work with Reeves management to fine tune the process.

The schedule for 2008 will be posted on our web site as soon as it becomes available and also will be available at the Spring Banquet, so please mark your calendars. Returning in 2008 are Bingo-Bango-Bongo, # clubs and a putter (however, this will not be a competitive event) and the Banker's Handicap (better known as the Peoria System). These changes were made in an attempt to ensure continued interest in our league and your participation is greatly appreciated.

Please note the annual picnic was changed to Monday as we play the back nine on Friday and the distance from the 18th green to the 10th tee would cause delays by walkers making the loop. This past year (2007) the Friday round was switched to the front, but if there is another league, we would not have that opportunity.

One other change was to switch the Fall Banquet from dinner to lunch.

The Board hopes everyone is looking forward to another banner year filled with enjoyable rounds of golf and entertainment..
