Par Hopers Begin Their 46th Golf Season
For those who are 62 yeas of age, retired and love the game of golf, Par Hopers is a fellowship experience that is hard to beat. Nine holes of golf at Reeves golf course every Monday and Friday from April 14 to October 10, is a passion for most of the members. No phone calls to make to get a came together, just show up any time between the hours of 7:30 AM and 9:30 AM, pick up a match, and enjoy a couple of care free hours of golf fellowship.
Throughout the year there are special Par Hoper events – including The Match Play Tournament and The Club Medal Play Championship.
What makes Par Hopers so special is the opportunity to play with golfers from 62 years young to some just short of 100. Since the average score for a Par Hoper is 50 for nine holes, the organization is designed to accommodate most golfers who love the game. Many long term friendships have developed out of meeting new people over few holes of golf.
Par Hopers is also a give back group. In cooperation the national and local First Tee program, they annually award a $1,000 scholarship to a young teenager, who has excelled at learning about life skills through the lessons of golf and the mentoring provided by the First Tee Staff. Members also actively volunteer in the Annual Junior Golf Championship sponsored by the Cincinnati Recreation Commission.
